Golf

Designed by Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish, Broken Top's golf course blends traditional design elements with modern routings, bunkers and green complexes. Remaining a private golf club makes Broken Top Bend's premiere golfing experience.

Our PGA Golf Professionals are here to help with lessons, clinics and one-on-one instruction. We also offer custom clubfitting services and a seasonal selection of golf apparel.

Instructor Profile

Andrew is a PGA Member since 2007. He played 2 years of college golf at Butler County Community College. Andrew was 2nd team all-conference and played in the NJCAA National Championship both years. He then went on to pursue his career as a Golf Professional in the Professional Golf Management program at New Mexico State University. He owns individual tournament wins at the Junior, College, and Professional levels.  This blend of experience from playing competitively, to working alongside great professional teachers has provided Andrew with the ability to help all levels of players find success with their golf games.

Teaching Philosophy

A good teacher does not simply instruct in a classroom but rather prepares the student for real world success. I believe a golf instructor is no different. Preparing a student for golf outside of the lesson tee means teaching them how to identify and self-correct swing issues and ball flight problems as they occur on the practice range, golf course, or during tournament play. Proper and consistent pre-swing and practice fundamentals are critical to a player’s success. This leads to the ability to control the clubface properly through the solid impact of the ball while efficiently blending the body movements of a rhythmic swing.

Long lasting enjoyment of this great game for every student is my ultimate goal.

Todd O'Neal, PGA - Director of Instruction

My name is Todd O’Neal. I’m a Northwest Native “Oregonian” where I have spent the majority of my career.  I have two amazing daughters along with two granddaughters and the best fiancĂ© any man could ever ask for and we now live in Central Oregon!
My career path has worked up and down the West Coast (from Seattle, WA, to San Diego, CA and also did three 2-year stints at Kapalua Golf Club in Maui).  I have always been a competitive player and appreciate the purpose in working towards something meaningful. From competing in events on the PGA Tour, or multiple time at the PGA Professional Championship (the national championship for PGA member professionals) and similar, we need a purpose. Further, I was privileged to coach high school golf in the Eugene area (for 8 seasons). During that time, with several back-to-back state championships won, our programs for both Girls and Boys was identified as the most dominant in the state, if not in OSAA history.
I have a true passion for the game of golf, and am inspired to be a guide on the golf pathway for anyone wanting to make it a part of their life.  I was blessed with some of the best mentors growing up and have always been motivated to give back based on what they modeled for me.
My coaching style is based around solid fundamentals, while creating pathways to success around (or through) the player’s physical restrictions and limitations (because everyone has them.) In the process, we often uncover new strengths, learn how to best manage weakness and more. In the journey, we solidify confidence and we find results together (that is the fun part too!)  One core part of the game I focus on with every player is scoring (or the short game.) I truly believe that “the best offense is always a better defense.”
My primary goal with any player, at any skill level, I coach: I want to help them “find the fun in the game” and their source of inspiration to engage more deeply. Lucky for me, it would seem I have a knack for helping players “find their fun!” With that, I look forward to meeting you (and every member of Broken Top Club), and I hope you’ll give me the opportunity to “find your fun” (and your game) sometime soon.
Cheers,

Todd O’Neal, PGA
